The traditional African design on this handwoven Kolda Small Basket has been made by hand from straw and recycled plastic. The Senegalese basket have been made by intertwining strips of recycled plastic to form the basket and lid. These small baskets have been made by skilled artisans working for an inspirational Fair Trade organisation in Senegal Africa.
Each basket comes in assorted colours and designs that very much depend on the materials that the artisans have at that time. This not only ensures less environmental impact but also means that every basket is 100% unique. Plastic is a big problem that we face globally, and using it in ways like this allows us to reduce waste and give something old a new lease of life.
This small hand woven basket pot comes with a matching lid. You will receive one beautiful pot. They come in reds, pinks, blues, purple, and yellow. They are made from recycled materials that would have otherwise been wasted. These multicoloured storage baskets are suitable for many things including storing spare change as a money pot, holding hairbands, trinkets, jewellery and other small items. In size they are approximately 12 cm but will vary.
