The Indian Kaita Clapper is a percussion musical instrument that is made from solid mango wood. This musical instrument consists of three pieces of mango wood that are attached together by an elasticated cord and when shaken produce a loud wood clacking sound. Each clacker is unique and will slightly vary in grain and colour with some pieces being darker or lighter than others. These hand crafted large Kaita Clapper are similar to castanets; only they are more noisy and are capable of producing a much more powerful sound.
