Atlas Fish Guiro

The Atlas Fish Guiro comes equipped with a rasp to play the ridged edges, the sound is crisp and you can tap the instrument to make a hollow loud sound. This guiro comes with the bright and colourful shades of brown, red and green with the drawing of a fish face on. Guiros are typically used in Spanish music but more specifically Mexico and would usually be played and performed by the singer. Playing the guiro is played by a combination of long and short strokes, you can also tap to a beat with the scraper. 

The Atlas Fish Guiro instrument can go by the names of guacharo, guira, rascador, Rayo carracho and candungo it is a very popular percussion instrument in South America. Guiros are typically made from hollow gourd and originated in Puerto Rico but this tri colour fish guiro is made from solid maple wood.
