Description

The Apitua dundun bell is a hand-forged iron bell from Ghana, shaped like an open pea-pod, also known as Atoke, Apitua, Pod Bells, and Banana Bells. This bell is perfect for dancers to emphasise movements or for musicians to accentuate rhythm with its alternate clear ringing tones and muffled hand-damped tones. A beater is supplied, and the bell can also be attached to dundun, sangba, and kenkeni bass drums. Ethically sourced and fairly traded, the Apitua dundun bell is not just a musical instrument but a symbol of tradition.
